Fellow Members & Prospective Members,
The New Cross Golf Society is a South East London Golf Society who have regular monthly outings throughout the South East of England as well as Special Events throughout the year - for example, our Annual Charity Event.
Our days out usually consist of a good early morning breakfast get together (optional) followed by a round of golf on one of the many great golf courses in Kent or on one of the many great golf courses in the south east of England.
We have presentation of prizes after the event back at our host pub and one of our main sponsors, The Amersham Arms in New Cross. There are prizes for Stapleford Winner, 2 Nearest Pins, & 1 Longest Drive as well as other less coveted awards like "Shank of the Day" and such like (we've all been there!)
Some of the trophies that we'll be playing for on our outings include:
Longford Cup
(last year's winner Noel Mulcahy)
Roscommon Cup (last year's winner Joe Meares)
Derry Cup (last year's winner DJ Bradley)
Donegal Cup (last year's winner Bob Tate)
Tipperary Cup (last year's winner Gary O Donnell)
St. Patrick's Day Cup
We have other cups and trophies to play for also so there's plenty of golf on offer throughout the year.
For our Charity event in 2005, we had a very successful day at Addington Court golf club in aid of Breakthrough cancer research which raised £5,000 which we presented to Miss Melanie Haugh whom we sponsored. A big thanks to all the people who sponsored and raised money for the day including A&M Construction, Fairfax Security, Paul Fellows, Bob Tate, and many more. Here's to an equally successful event in 2006!
