Club Reviews

"The craic and the history at Cúchulainns is second to none - and one of the few London clubs to boast both a Hurling and Football team. With many past and recent successes including the London Intermediate Football League Champions of 2003 we're confident of even greater success in the future!"

Eddie Naughton
Chairman

"We've been in existence since 1932, one of the longest running clubs in London GAA history and we're immensely proud of that tradition and aim to carry on the successes of the teams that have gone before us. SE London GAA is alive and well and living at Cúchulainns!"

Cúchulainns Club History

"Cúchulainns is One of the Oldest London GAA Clubs
With a Proud & Competitive Track Record
So Join in on the Action Today!"

Cúchulainns is an already established, competitive and long serving London GAA club with a long list of honours over our 70 odd year history. Some of our successes include the London Senior Hurling Championship as far back as 1934 and the London Intermediate Football League Title as recent as 2003.

Cúchulainns have a long history in the London GAA as mentioned above. Members, past and present, have derived from just about every county in Ireland as well as London born players and officers. Many members have given service to the London GAA County Board, both as players on the London County hurling and football teams and also as officials on the London County Board itself.

Cúchulainns GAA Memorial

Dan Purcell

"Dan was a founder member of Cúchulainns hurling and gaelic football club and held many posts in the club and at County Board Level. A native of Inistioge, Co. Kilkenny, Dan came to London at an early age where he was active on the London GAA scene right up to his last years. The Cúchulainns hurling team was renamed "Cúchulainn-Puirseil" in his honour back in 1986."

Tony Casey

"Tony had been with the Cúchulainns for many years as player, supporter and mentor until his sad death in January this year. In his day, he was a great hurler and before coming to the London GAA scene he had already played county hurling for Clare & Sixmilebridge at minor level. He was also a keen runner in his day and due to this prowess became known as "The Athlete" - one of the true all rounders. He also loved talking about GAA issues and would gladly bend your ear down the pub to discuss the relative merits of Cúchulainns performances on any given day."
